Armenian young doctors will perform during the World Doctors Orchestra Concert, too.
Two years ago 400 doctors, representing various parts our planet, were united by music. This initiative belongs to a German professor at the Medical Center of Charité Berlin University Stefan Willich. This is how the Orchestra was born.
Two or three concerts are performed annually by this unique orchestra in different countries annually. They gather somewhere in four days and organize trainings before each concert. All the concerts are of the beneficiary character and the revenue serves for the healthcare activities of people. “Our members cover their expenses themselves during the tours. We do this for the welfare via music”, - says Stefan Willich.
80 doctors- musicians have arrived in Armenia. Six Armenian doctors will join them during the concert, expected on January 17. Students of Yerevan State Medical University sister and brother Khachikyans are among them. Rouben is future dentist and Mariam is 4th year student at the Faculty of Pharmaceutics.
They have graduated from Music School after Tchaikovsky and are violinists. “We have not performed anything for a long time and it was very interesting during the first training with the orchestra today. It is a great pleasure to do this, as well as to communicate with the representatives of 12 different nations, who are our colleagues”, - said Rouben and Mariam to the Youth.am journalist. They have already received an invitation for a new concert: they will participate with this orchestra in the concert in Berlin coming Fall.
By the way, organizers have prepared a surprise for our audience. As all the tickets are sold, those, who did not manage to get one, are provided with the opportunity to attend another concert, which will be held on January 16. The entrance is free.
