MEETING WITH A. MARTIROSYAN, DEPUTY MINISTER OF ESCS
On June 19th, Arthur Martirosyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of RA, also in charge of coordinating the youth sector, met Artur Najaryan, President of Gyumri “Youth Initiatives Center” NGO, also managing the Information Center of the European Union “Erasmus + Youth” and “European Solidarity Corps” programmes in Armenia, and Mariam Gharagyozyan, Project Manager, YIC NGO.

Najaryan introduced the operations of the Information Center of the European Union “Erasmus + Youth” and “European Solidarity Corps” programmes in Armenia, its mission and achievements.

The Deputy Minister highlighted the significance of the role of the Information Centerthe in raising awareness in youth international collaborations and the opportunities provided by the Information Center of “Erasmus + Youth” and “European Solidarity Corps” programmes.

He noted that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of RA is keen to assist Gyumri YIC NGO in the operations of the Information Center in Armenia in order to ensure publicizing the opportunities provided by EU international youth programmes and delivering those to the beneficiaries.

The representatives of YIC also presented the main directions of their organization, the implemented and ongoing projects, as well as the collaboration with the managing authorized state body of the youth sector.

Tamara Torosyan, Head of Youth Policy Department of MoESCS, and Angelina Hovhannisyan, Head of the Division of Foreign Relations, also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of joining forces of the State and non-governmental organizations towards youth policy state processes of RA, the development of youth employment in Armenia, the professional awareness of young specialists as well as continuous growth of the sector.

The sides expressed willingness in advancing the collaboration in the frameworks of local as well as international programmes.
